WE SUPPORT

Long-Distance Adoption®

Long-Distance Adoption® programme – by giving a person education, you give them the most valuable thing – a chance for independence and a better perspective on life. Your help will be permanent. We support a 12-year-old girl from India, Chaitru Naik.
Since 1993, Distance Adoption® has helped more than 30,000 of the poorest children. The aid includes funding education costs (tuition fees at primary, secondary or higher schools, school supplies, school uniforms, boarding and tutoring if necessary), as well as extracurricular activities and healthcare. Support for the communities that play a crucial role in the overall development and education of the children in need is an integral part of the programme.

This is a long-term and ongoing project for our company.

Paraple Centre

A charitable society founded in 1994 by Zdeněk Svěrák and the civic association the Association of Paraplegics (currently the “Czech Association of Paraplegics”).

Its mission is to help people aged 16 and above and living in the Czech Republic who have suffered damage to their spinal cord to make a change in their current way of living so as to equalise their opportunities with those commonly enjoyed by their fully able peers. It also intends to support clients in their self-realisation shortly after the accident and during their further lives. The main service, residential social rehabilitation, is a sophisticated system of care, assistance, support and therapeutic activities provided by a multidisciplinary team using methods at its professional discretion and expertise when working with clients. It is provided in three-week cycles with a capacity of 20 people per cycle.

SIRIRI, o.p.s

The charitable society SIRIRI for sustainable development in the Central African Republic, a country suffering from long-term poverty – instead of sending one-off humanitarian consignments, we set people up to stand on their own two feet.
Development aid to “aid orphans” – poor countries outside the interests of other organisations and out of the reach of official aid, which will not be able to manage without help from the “outside”. Awareness of, and education for, “development thinking” and consciousness of co-responsibility for the situation in Africa.

This is a long-term and ongoing project for our company.

TV NOE

TV NOE, or the Television of Good News, is a non-commercial Czech Christian medium. It offers programmes with an ethical dimension for the entire family. Its broadcasts have a peaceful character, combined with a positive view of the world. It offers a healthy lifestyle with a purposeful reduction in the depiction of violence and immorality. Its broadcasting is markedly different from that of other stations. This is also supported by the fact that no advertising is broadcast, as the company running the station is a non-commercial entity. TV Noe advocates healthy values and general tolerance among people. It emphasises education and cultural, spiritual and aesthetic experiences, offering broadcasting time to churches, non-profit organisations and charitable societies alike. Tv Noe also offers the possibility of making one’s own recordings and live performances of concerts and theatre performances. Its programming is to some extent complementary to the broadcasting of Radio Proglas. TV Noe works on several levels with many TV stations with a similar focus around the globe.

This is a long-term and ongoing project for our company.

UNICEF’s “Gifts for Life”

UNICEF (the United Nations Children’s Fund) works in more than 190 countries around the world to help children survive, supporting their development from birth to adulthood. UNICEF provides children with healthcare, nutrition, drinking water and hygiene, basic education for all boys and girls, and protection against violence, abuse and the risks of AIDS. Most of the aid goes to those parts of the world where the situation of children is most pressing – to developing countries and areas hit by natural disasters or wars.
Through our partner, our company has donated drugs against diseases caused by intestinal parasites.

This is an occasional project for our company.

Wheelchairs

As insurance companies only pay for about one third of the cost of a wheelchair, we have decided to contribute to cover the balance of the cost from donations. We take pride in having contributed to a young man called Honza so that he could purchase a wheelchair for himself. The purchase price of the wheelchair amounted to CZK 117,000. See the photo below.

This is a one-off project for our company.

Competition crew at the Budapest-Bomako Rally

In 2015, we supported the crew of a ŠKODA Favorit 135L racing car. Starting in Budapest and finishing in Bomaku, this race also had a charitable goal in the form of gifts for African children. When the race had finished, the car was auctioned off by local fans.

This is a one-off project for our company.
